Join Derbyshire Record Office on a journey of Discovery!
From March through to May Derbyshire Record Office will be holding a new and exciting series of free events exploring and celebrating Derbyshire’s links with the worlds of medicine, science and technology. Through talks, displays and workshops we will be delving into the wealth of collections held at the Record Office and showcasing a wide variety of fascinating archival treasures and unlocking their research potential.
April is ‘science month’ at Derbyshire Record Office and we will looking at aspects of science with a special focus on sources for the environmental history of Derbyshire including weather observations and management of resources such as water. Our archive skills workshop will look into the research potential of collections held at the Record Office which relate to Derbyshire and its environment and there will also be a display of a range of science-related local archives.
