Discover the history and development of writing in England through the ages, from Anglo-Saxon times to the Victorian era, and learn how to decipher different styles of old handwriting. A hands-on introduction to reading a range of documents such as wills and inventories, parish registers, and manorial court rolls, using copies of original documents from Hampshire’s written heritage. 10am-4pm at Hampshire Record Office Cost: £20 (lunch not included): advance booking essential (01962 846154)
