Workshop: Transport (Road, Rail, Sea & Air)
26th of September, 2008
We will explore the development of transport from the 1750’s to 1930’s and how it changed the lives of our ancestors. To include turnpike roads, canals, the coming of the railways, sailing ships to steam, horse and cart to motor vehicles, bicycles and air travel. The development of all these introduced different new occupations and saw many people leaving the land. Please bring along your research with examples of the topic.
