Nestling as they do in the Midlands of England the area, ranging from the High Peak to the gentle wolds of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, includes industrial cites and country estate along with the accompanying rich diversity of lives of both rural and urban communities. Whether the county archives refer in particular to your own family there will be implications for the community in which they lived. Find out how to be at home amongst the records, were they are housed, what can be done from afar and what family histories societies exist in the areas.
