Workshop: My Ancestor was in the Army
16th of August, 2008
If you have ancestors in the Army then you are in luck because there are many records about them. We will discuss the major sources for tracing men (and a few women) who were in the Army between roughly 1760 and 1960’s at the National Archives, regimental museums and elsewhere. Particular emphasis will be given to newly released material and resources available online. We will also look at the changing nature of their experience in the barracks and in battle. A half-day workshop with Simon Fowler, editor of Ancestry Magazine 2-5pm, £15.00, must be pre-booked
Open: 10-6 Tue-Sat, 10-8 Thur
Admission Fee: varies
