AAC 2008 Event Details
1967 and All That
2nd of February, 2007 - 18th of March, 2007
“The Wolfenden Committee had recommended that male homosexuality be decriminalised 10 years previously, in 1957, so why did it all take so long to me implemented? ‘1967 and All That’ shows how the press did not simply report on the progress of the Wolfenden recommendations, it actually helped to shape the debate. A fascinating exhibition of magnified items from the press covering lesbian and gay issues and campaigning materials from gay groups over the past 40 years. Offering an educational insight into the covert and symbiotic relationship between the press and public opinion when lesbian and gay rights and lifestyles are involved
Open: Monday to Thursday 10 - 1 and 2 - 5 Friday Closed Saturday 10 - 1 and 2 - 5.30 Sunday 2 - 5.30
